Welcome to the Tennessee Railroad Association

Tennessee's Economy on Track!

The Tennessee Railroad Association (TNRRA) invites you to learn more about our Class I railroad members and their presence in Tennessee.  Class I railroads are a key component to the economic vitality of Tennessee, operating more than 2,500 freight miles, employing more than 4,400 people, and handling more than 1.5 million carloads of freight on a yearly basis. Tennessee is also home to key rail intermodal facilities as well as being a major gateway between the eastern half and western half of the United States.

TNRRA hopes you will use this site as a resource for information. You will find links to not only our members’ social media but also links to other entities, including the Association of American Railroads (AAR), Operation Lifesaver, the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and the Tennessee General Assembly as well as resource information and links for topics like railroad crossings and quiet zones.

TNRRA appreciates your interest in Class I railroads. If you have other questions or need additional information, please contact us.
